International Museum Day: interactive experiences at the Telecommunications Museum of OTE Group

Events and educational programs for parents and children are planned for the International Museum Day titled "Museums as cultural hubs: the Future of Tradition", by the OTE Group Telecommunications Museum at its premises in Nea Kifissia.

From Friday 17th May until Sunday 19th May, creative and specially designed activities will take place such as visual workshops, educational museum-friendly activities, mixed realities activities and guided tours. Participation in all activities is free of charge.

The actions include, among others, the painting workshop "Painting the Past" for children aged from 8 to 12 years old, the “Museum in the dark” educational museum-friendly program for children aged from 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 years old, and the “Mystery Museum ... Mystery Game at the Museum!”, for children aged from 7 to 12 years old.

The Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) advanced technologies have been installed at the Telecommunications Museum, offering a unique digital pathway to its exhibits and collections.

The collections include more than 3,400 items and extensive archive material with more than 25,500 documents, telephotos, telegrams, maps, as well as audiovisual material from the history of telecommunications.

The Telecommunications Museum preserves the cultural heritage and history of telecommunications in Greece, while simultaneously, through actions and educational programs invests in young people and society, contributing to a world better for all.
