American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce: Greek Economic Summit

From: 03.12.2019 To: 13.01.2020 Share

The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its 30th annual Greek Economy Summit | Turning the Odds to be held on December 3-4, 2019 at the Athenaeum InterContinental in Athens, Greece. The Summit is organized in cooperation with the Athens Stock Exchange.

This year’s event marks the 30th anniversary of a remarkable economic annual happening. After three successful consecutive decades, the summit has undoubtedly been established as an institution featuring all the country’s prime ministers for the past 30 years as well as all key ministers and deputy ministers, US ambassadors, high-ranking officials, top representatives from the political spectrum, academics, diplomats and top business executives representatives from Greece, the US and EU.

The Summit’s theme, Turning the Odds, reflects the country’s dynamic efforts to turn the page and rapidly return to a sustainable path of growth and global competitiveness amid the challenges facing countries and economies in today’s disruptive environment. In a world characterized by explosive technological developments, geopolitical upheavals and confrontations over values and ethics, countries are called to demonstrate high levels of competence in adopting and integrating the new trends that will lead them to sustainable growth.

As the global economy races into unchartered waters, with technological breakthroughs, new business developments, and creative disruption across the board, can Greece’s recent experience in responding to crisis become an asset? Can Greece use its resilience to adapt to a future dominated by new economic models? Does Greece have the capacity to become a “turnaround” and how? What are the practices that could make Greece competitive globally?
