For the fourth consecutive year, COSMOTE won the Speedtest AwardsTM of the independent network metrics company, Ookla®. According to the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence, testing applications and technology, the COSMOTE network is “the fastest mobile network in Greece,” achieving a Speed ScoreTM of 44.38, over 40% higher than the second-ranked provider (2nd: 30.93; 3rd: 25.63).
 
The Greece's Fastest Mobile Network 2020 award was based on some 400,000 tests taken by users of the mobile network in the first six months of the year. The tests were performed under real conditions throughout the country, on the networks of all the mobile telephony providers, through iOS and Android devices using the Speedtest® app.

COSMOTE: The largest 4G/4G+ network in Greece, constantly getting better
 
COSMOTE subscribers have access to the largest 4G and 4G+ network in Greece, with population coverage at 99% and 96%, respectively, and with 98% 4G coverage at sea. Over the past two years, COSMOTE has increased the capacity of its 4G network by 65%, allowing for a fourfold increase in mobile data traffic with no impact on users’ connectivity experience.
 
At the beginning of this year, COSMOTE launched the comprehensive modernization of its mobile access network, in partnership with Ericsson. The existing 2G/3G/4G/4G+ equipment is being completely replaced to prepare for upgrading of the network to 5G (5G ready). COSMOTE will thus continue to meet its subscribers’ digital-age communication and connectivity needs in the best possible way, ready to provide innovative 5G services and products.
