Alpha Bank: Make your own coin!

On Saturday, October 10, 2009, Alpha Bank and the Numismatic Museum are organising, jointly for the first time, an educational event in the Garden of the Iliou Melathron intended for children and adults.

Assisted by archaeologists and conservators, the public will be acquainted with the technique of ancient coin minting and will take part in the production process using die replicas. Participants shall be given the opportunity to mint and paint their own coins but also to design an iconographic theme for a coin employing ancient and modern representations as a source of inspiration.
