GLOBAL SUSTAIN: e-Brunch on Whistleblowing

Responding to global developments and with a sense of responsibility towards society, Global Sustain remains on the side of its members with consistency and respect for their communication and networking needs, through the "e-Brunch with Global Sustain" service.

“E-Brunch with Global Sustain” is the monthly virtual meeting of the network, where each member can present their own topic to the other network members, through the Zoom Meetings platform, facilitating discussion with all participants.

On July 15, another e-Brunch was held, with Mr. Sophoklis Karapidakis, Director of Regulatory Compliance & Data Protection Officer (DPO) of MYTILINEOS S.A.

The main topic was the introduction of Whistleblowing policies in companies and organizations, and the experience of MYTILINEOS so far.

More specifically, the following issues were discussed:
  • Introduction to the EU Directive 1937/2019 for the protection of persons who report violations of European law.
  • Impact of the Directive on private sector organizations.
  • Proposed implementation plans of the Directive
  • Concerns about the protection of personal data and the conduct of internal investigations.
The next e-brunch will take place in September.
